Sports figure donate amid Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak

Athletes and teams around the world donate amid Coronavirus to hospitals, needy, and others affected by COVID-19.

As the deadly coronavirus continuously rapidly spreading around the world, the graph of effected patients exponentially increasing day by day, a vast outbreak you may call it.

A growing number of sports stars and teams donate amid coronavirus to give a hand to medical staff, and hospitals fight the global pandemic.

The coronavirus outbreak has already wreaked havoc on sporting arenas postponement of the Tokyo Olympics, postponement of UCL, postponement of the UEL, and forcing the EURO 2020 by one year all at once.

It is not the end of the global pandemic, but the suspension of the major sports leagues, and it has affected several players and tested positive for coronavirus as well. 

1. Swiss star Roger Federer and his wife Mirka said they had donated one million Swiss francs ($1.02 million) “for the most vulnerable families” in Switzerland, which has 12,311 confirmed cases and a death toll of 207.

“These are challenging times for everyone, and nobody should be left behind,” the tennis star wrote on social media sites.

“Our contribution is just a start,” Federer added. “We hope that others might join in supporting more families in need. Together we can overcome this crisis.” 

Two of the greatest stars of the footballing world have also donated 1 Million euros each to the global pandemic.

2. Argentina’s and Barcelona star Messi donate amid Coronavirus to the hospitals in Barcelona, which is treating the affected ones, and finding out the solution too.

3. While Portugal’s and Old lady star Ronaldo’s and his agent jointly donated to the hospitals in Lisbon and Porto.

4. The EPL clubs Brighton, Bournemouth to give medical workers free football tickets to show ‘thanking gesture.’

5. Meanwhile, more than 100 athletes from 20 different sports have donated signed memorabilia to be auctioned off by the “Athletes For COVID-19 Relief” fund.

6. In the US, NBA teams Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers, Sacramento Kings, Philadelphia 76ers, San Antonia Spurs among many others have agreed to donate amid coronavirus to help the workers.

7. The Golden State Warriors to donate 1 million$ to a disaster relief fund. 

8. While in Pakistan, where pandemic hold it’s a strong line and daily wagers are struggling to live; Pakistan’s cricketing star Shahid khan Afridi came forward to help.

9. In Bangladesh, national cricketers donated half of their monthly salaries to fight the cause.

To date, globally, 3.53 million people have been infected by the coronavirus, and the death toll has risen to 2 lac 48 thousand (248K).
