BEST FIFA Football Awards 2020: Ronaldo, Messi Nominated for Men’s Player award.

The list of the nominees for Best FIFA Football Awards is out on Wednesday. A stellar list of former players was part of the panel that shortlisted the nominations and will be truncated further by the voting system. The three finalists will be announced in a virtually held event due to fighting COVID-19 on 11 December with public voting running until 9 December.

After an outstanding season with Bayern Munich and winning one of the most prestigious UEFA Champions League and having been nominated UEFA men’s player of the year, Robert Lewandowski has joined Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Neymar in the nominations list released by Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) on Wednesday for the Best FIFA Football Awards in Men’s category.

Despite having a forgettable year in the Champions League 2020 which saw early exits of Ronaldo and Messi, have been in good form at a personal level and that is the reason why they have found a spot in the list of Best FIFA Football Awards which features stars like Sergio Ramos, Kylian Mbappe, Sadio Mane, Mohammad Salah, Kevin De Bruyne, Virgil Van Djik and Thiago Alcantara. With the prestigious Ballon D’Or cancelled due to the pandemic, this is the awards fans have been looking forward to.
