WC 2019: Ben Stokes on Indian approach in a match. English all-rounder published in a book alleges the approach of MS Dhoni in a match.
English all-rounder, Ben Stokes, recently published in his book analyzing the performances of Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma in a World Cup match England Vs India.
Analyzing the game England Vs India in WC 2019
All-rounder published his book ‘on fire’ where he has talked, and took-into-detail about every match English team played against every opponent during World Cup 2019.
Analyzing the game at Birmingham against India, he wrote that he was surprised by the approach of Indian batsmen namely, MS Dhoni way to the game which saw English men winning the tie by 31-runs.
English’s star, Ben Stokes on Indian approach, questions the way of handling the situation in a match England Vs India of Indian batsmen, especially MS Dhoni. Ben Stokes said India could have had the victory easily if MS Dhoni had hit boundaries as he is known for ‘fine-finisher’ of the game.
“Arguably, the way MS Dhoni played when he came in with 112 runs needed from 11 overs was even stranger. He appeared more intent on singles than sixes. Even with a dozen balls remaining, India could still have won”. He added, “…there was little or no intent from him (Dhoni) or his partner Kedar Jadhav. To me, while victory is still possible you always go for broke,” Ben Stokes published in his book.
MS Dhoni remained on pitch right to the end, scoring 42 off 31 balls, he could not prove his worth as ‘finisher’ in a game.
“There is a theory in our camp that Dhoni’s way of playing has always been the same. Even if India can’t win the game, he takes it right to the end to try to make sure that India’s run-rate stays relatively healthy,” He wrote.
MS Dhoni has always been to give himself a chance to take the game.
“His big thing has always been to give himself a chance of winning by being at the crease for the final over, but he generally likes to stick around to get as close to a target as possible even in a losing cause.”, he added on the game.

Ben also alleges the way of two Indian top batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kholi in that match during World Cup 2019, both of them could not manage to get high on the score sheet.
Ben Stokes on Indian approach, publishes that the way of getting into the game by Indian batsmen was not impressive, he believes that their innings’ mystifying and bizarre’ and alleges Rohit Sharma and Virat Kholi behind the loss of India.
“The way Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli played was mystifying. I know that we bowled brilliantly well during this period, but the way they went about their batting just seemed bizarre. They allowed their team to get so far behind the game. They showed no desire to put any pressure back onto our team, content instead to just drift along, a tactic that was clearly playing into our hands,” English all-rounder, Ben Stokes said.
His allegations on the way of approach of Indian batsmen are published in his book ‘on fire’, where he has talked about the winning triumph in the first over World Cup win.
