THE ultimate Ballon d’Or Dream Team of all-time has officially been named – and it is jam-packed with stars.

France Football – the publication behind the Ballon d’Or – have created their ultimate XI after asking 140 journalists to cast their vote.

Ballon d’Or dream team
The esteemed Ballon d’Or dream team line-up includes Brazil’s three-time World Cup winner Pele and legendary Argentinian Diego Maradona, who died last month of a heart attack. The team also includes goalkeeper Lev Yashin; defenders Cafu, Franz Beckenbauer and Paolo Maldini; and mid-fielders Xavi and Lothar Matthaus.
“For me, it is an honour to have been included in the eleven of the Ballon d’Or Dream Team. I want to thank you for choosing me and also congratulate all the players who were selected … and all the nominees, there are real phenomena on that list,” Messi, who has won the Ballon d’Or a record six times, said in an Instagram post.
Ronaldo, a two-time World Cup winner and dual Ballon d’Or recipient, also expressed pride at being named in the No. 9 position.

“It’s such an honour to be elected the best centre forward of all time in the Dream Team by France Football,” Ronaldo said on Instagram.
“I gave my life for football and followed my dreams. No matter the obstacle I faced and the pain I had to overcome I was always focused to get where I wanted,” he added.
Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo, who has won the Ballon d’Or five times, said: “I’m very honoured to be part of France Football’s all-time 11. What an amazing Dream Team. They all deserve my respect and admiration and I’m obviously proud to be amongst such extraordinary players. Thank you!”
Those votes have now been counted and a first, second AND third XI have all been revealed.
After the votes of 140 journalists from all around the world, here is the Ballon d’Or dream team with best players of all-time with the second and the third team squad.
Second best XI of all-time
The France Football has also revelled the second team and its squad featured other legendary players like Johan Cruyff, Ronaldinho, Zinedine Zidane, Alfredo di Stefano, Andrea Pirlo, Roberto Carlos, and Franco Baresi.

Third best team of all-time
While the third team of Ballon d’Or dream team squad featured legends like George Best, Marco van Basten, Thierry Henry, Andres Iniesta, Michel Platini, Sergio Ramos, and Phillip Lahm.
